Wheats&Women Conference

The Wheats&Women International Conference will take place in Rome, Italy, on 14 & 15 June 2018.

Abstracts for oral presentations are accepted until 31 October 2017.

The Conference is organized by the Italian National Academy of Sciences, the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA) and the International Federation of Business and Professional Women-ITALY (FIDAPA BPW Italy), on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Carlotta Strampelli, countess Parisani (1868-1926), wife and key collaborator of Nazzareno Strampelli.

The Conference will offer the opportunity to:
- present and share the latest research experiences, new approaches and technologies in wheat research, - highlight “what” the sustainable wheat production problems are and “how” they can be solved,
- celebrate the achievements of women working on wheat and related species.

The sessions will be dedicated to:

  • Breakthrough discoveries impacting wheat
  • New breeding approaches for sustainability and food security
  • Improving wheat quality for processing, health and nutritional value
  • Agriculture and 2030 Agenda (the future of farming)

Furthermore, the Wheats & Women International Conference will be the framework for the delivery of the first edition of the Carlotta Award, supported by FIDAPA, to honor achievements of women scientists in the field of wheat genetics and breeding.

The Conference Scientific Committee welcomes abstracts for oral presentations until 31 October 2017. All submissions should be made online on the conference website
