The French Plant Genomic Resources Centre (CNRGV), unique in France, was established in 2004 as a nonprofit Biological Resource Center (BRC) dedicated to plant genomic resources. The activities of this national organisation are to ensure that this important genomic material and their descriptions are maintained and available for the benefit of science and biotechnology. Since its creation, CNRGV has centralized more than 7 millions clones derived from genomic resources of model and crop plants: Arabidopsis thaliana, Medicago truncatula, wheat, tomato, pepper, grapevine, rapeseed, maize, barley, sunflower, tobacco, radish, melon, etc. Among them, more than 3 million BAC clones are from wheat BAC libraries (libraries described in the table below and http://cnrgv.toulouse.inra.fr/en/library/wheat). The objectives of the CNRGV are also to produce efficient tools for genome analysis and make them available for the scientific community. In this context, the CNRGV has developed rapid, efficient, and cheap tools to exploit BAC libraries in order to isolate positive clones located in regions of interest. For example, three-dimensional pools coupled with PCR screening are used in various projects for isolation of genes of interest, construction of physical map of a region, identification of homoeologous genes in polyploid species, and comparisons of genomic studies between crop and model species, More information is available at http://cnrgv.toulouse.inra.fr/en
