IWGSC Annotation Guidelines
In January 2006, the IWGSC established a wheat annotation group. Version 1 of the Draft annotation guidelines were finalized in June 2006 and approved by the Coordinating Committee of the IWGSC. A subsequent meeting was held in January 2007 at the Plant and Animal Genome conference in San Diego, California and an update was approved in May 2007. Further revisions will be made as necessary to the guidelines. In December 2010, the IWGSC established the Bioinformatics Board, led by Klaus Mayer (France). All future annotation activities will be coordinated through the Bioinformatics Board.
The annotation group held a workshop on 13 January 2009 in conjunction with the Plant and Animal Genome XVII Conference in San Diego, California. The workshop was organized by Philippe Leroy and Thomas Wicker, and Pablo Rabinowicz. Complete details including the workshop agenda and links to speaker abstracts can be found at: http://www.intl-pag.org/17/17-iwgsc2.html.
Annotation standards was one of the topics at the 2011 IWGSC Physical Mapping and Sequencing Standards and Protocols workshop, organized by co-chair Catherine Feuillet and executive director Eversole, held in conjunction with the Plant and Animal Genome Conference in January in San Diego, California.
