Abstract

To accelerate the delivery of the bread wheat reference genome sequence, Bayer CropScience (BCS) provided funding for the producition of physical maps for chromosomes 2B, 4B, 5BL, and 5DL as well as the completion of the physical map of chromosome 2D. Under this project, BAC libraries for 2B, 4B, 5BL, and 5DL produced by the Institute of Experimental Botany were transferred to the CNRGV for replication and archiving. Each library was sent to Amplicon Express for the production of BAC pools for Whole Genome Profile (WGPTM). WGPTM tags for 2B, 4B, 5BL, and 5DL have been generated by Keygene and have been transferred to MultiQTL for assembly with LTC software and for the design of the Minimal Tiling Path (MTP) that will be sequenced once funding has been received.

To complete the physical map of chromosome 2D ( WGPTM of which was performed by Keygene under a project led by The Genome Analysis Centre) and prepare for sequencing, the WGPTM data were re-assembled by MultiQTL with the latest version of LTC software and the MTP was designed.
