Structure
The IWGSC is led by six co-chairs, an executive director, and the coordinating committee.
The six co-chairs are R. Appels (Australia), J. Dvorak (USA), C. Feuillet (France), B. Gill (USA), B. Keller (Switzerland), Y. Ogihara (Japan) and K. Eversole (USA) serves as the executive director.
The Coordinating Committee is responsible for:
- Coordinating activities within the IWGSC and pertinent outside genome efforts
- Allocating responsibilities/tasks to IWGSC members
- Assessing and reporting on progress, and
- Monitoring data release activities
Members
The IWGSC has two categories of membership : Coordinating Committee Membership and General Membership.
Coordinating Committee members are individuals or organizations who support the IWGSC through scientific contributions (i.e., developing resources, sequencing, annotating, etc.) or through financial contributions (i.e., funding specific research projects needed to meet the goals of the IWGSC).
General membership consists of individuals who agree to the mission, goals, guiding principles, and data release standards.
