Construction of BAC DNA libraries specific for chromosome 4AL/4AS and positional cloning of gene for adult plant resistance to powdery mildew in wheat

Physical maps for 4AS and 4AL have been constructed from chromosome arm specific BAC libraries (see CNRGV page ). High information content fluorescent (HICF) fingerprints from 32944 (4AS) and 60140 (4AL) BACs have been assembled with LTC to produce physical maps containing 250 and 924 contigs, respectively, covering 86% and 89% of the estimated lengths of the chromosome arms.
