Call for IWGSC-Feuillet Early Career Award - PAG 2027

Nominations are now being accepted for the prestigious IWGSC-Feuillet Early Career Award. The recipient of the award will be expected to give a presentation on their work at the IWGSC workshop at the Plant and Animal Genome Conference (PAG34) on Saturday 9 January 2027. The work should focus on the latest frontiers in genome biology, both fundamental and applied, leading to significant advances in wheat science.

The individual selected to receive the IWGSC-Feuillet Early Career Award will receive a travel stipend of $1,000 (USD) to help defray the costs associated with participating in the workshop.

Deadline: Friday 9 October 2026, at 23:59 (US Eastern Time).

Eligibility: Graduate or postdoctoral students, scientists who do not lead their own research group, or scientists who received their Ph.D. between 2017 and 2027. Priority will be given to individuals who have not previously spoken at an IWGSC workshop at PAG.

Please read before submitting an application:

  • All costs must be covered upfront by the recipient. This includes PAG registration, travel, and accommodation. The IWGSC does not provide registration fee waivers, and the stipend will be awarded at the conclusion of the workshop on Saturday 9 January 2027.
  • Conference registration is required. As a workshop speaker, the recipient must register for the PAG Conference.
  • In-person attendance is mandatory. PAG takes place at the Town and Country Resort in San Diego, California, USA. There is no virtual participation option.
  • PAG speaker policies apply. Applicants may not give the same or a highly similar talk in more than one PAG workshop, or repeat a talk they gave in the same workshop the previous year.
