The IWGSC workshop at PAG Australia 2024 is a premier venue for scientists advancing genome-based research and improvement in bread wheat. Abstracts selected for oral presentation will focus on latest frontiers in genome biology, basic or applied, leading to significant advances in wheat science. Abstracts describing exceptional advances based in other crops, where potential benefit and transferability to wheat is stated, will also be considered. 

We are particularly encouraging Early Career Scientists (graduate or post‐doctoral students, scientists who do not have their own group, and scientists who received their Ph.D. between 2015 and 2025) to submit an abstract and apply for the IWGSC Early Career Award.

The recipient of the Early Career Award will be expected to give a presentation at the workshop and will receive a travel stipend of $500 (USD) to help defray the costs associated with participating in the workshop.

To ensure diversity of presentations, we discourage submission from individuals giving the same or a highly similar talk in more than one workshop or giving the same or highly similar talk in the same workshop the prior year. We will work with PAG Australia organizers to enforce this rule and are setting an early deadline for abstract submissions to assist in this effort.
